The kitchen is very good, you will not be disappointed. The prices are reasonable, but you get a lot more than home cooking. We like to come back anytime.

The food was a letdown. No bread in advance, no salad from the buffet (like the day before). The taste of the porcini mushroom risotto had nothing to do with porcini mushrooms. Rather, lemon zest determined the bland taste. The sea bream fillet was fried carelessly on top. That was nothing and not worth the price.

For a week with the racing bike through the Black Forest, Schönau is a good starting point and this hotel a great choice. Our company of 5 cyclists at a somewhat advanced age (Herren Poley) had nothing to complain about. Good rooms, excellent breakfast with which we could handle the new day and always a very tasty supper (with a glass of local wine). Ample parking for the cars, and for our racing cars a super safe basement. With average daily distances of just over 80 kms, we had an average of around 1700 altitude meters per day. So nice climb and fall. After which a nice white beer on the hotel terrace went in as ..... Don't miss out on a visit to Bäckerei-Konditorei (delicious cakes, lunches)
